WELCOME TO LISA’S SIMPLE LIFE!

WE ARE LOCATED in the piney woods of east Texas. My name is Lisa and I take care of the farm while hubby, Steve, travels for work. We have gardens (more than one), chickens, barn cats and a log home that needs lots of TLC.

Simple living and getting back to basics can mean different things for different people. For me, it means being self-sufficient and creating a happier, healthier life by using what is available. It means getting rid of the excess and clutter that serves no useful purpose. It means making it instead of buying it. It means getting rid of chemicals and finding healthier, safer alternatives for personal and household products. And it includes growing, preserving and cooking real food that doesn’t come from a box or bag. Is this the kind of life you envision and want for yourself and your family?

Are You...

Somewhat new to gardening?  Or maybe you’ve been away from it for awhile and need to ease back in? Are you looking for practical tips and inspiration to live a more natural lifestyle? Do you want to become more self-sufficient and self-reliant? Do you dream of a simpler way of life where you don’t have to rely on “the system” for basic needs like food and medicines? Where you want what you already have and actually use it? Or perhaps, you want to learn how to create your own natural, organic products for better health and a cleaner home? From gardening to cleaning and everything in between, help and inspiration are right here!

Simple Living and Getting back to basics...

Isn’t just about growing a garden and canning a few vegetables. It’s a life style! And sometimes it can be dirty and demanding. On the other hand, it can also be very, very rewarding! Here, I share tips and information that will help you be more self-sufficient and can even save you money. Because when you rely on your own skills to get the job done, your money stays in your pocket, where it belongs. How’s that for incentive!

The good news is you don’t need 50 acres to be self-sufficient. You can start small, whether you live in a one-bedroom apartment in the middle of the city or on less than an acre in the suburbs. You just need to start.

My hope is that you’ll find something here that inspires you, motivates you, challenges you or at the least, makes you smile. Are you ready for a more simplified life?
